New Weekly Article - Summer Recipes Your Home and Lifestyle

Just a few days ago.........

Just  a few days a go I had family visiting here from Louisiana.  My sister Pam, her son and his family came to Arkansas for a visit.  We had not seen them for three years.  While they were here they spent a couple of nights in Georgetown at my moms house.  Just for a little entertainment ( NOT ) they decided to cut a tree down that had been struck by lightening sometime back. 

This pictures was taken in the front yard of my moms house.  You would need a boat to be at that same place now.  This picture was made less than one week ago.  The area is flooded now and you must have a boat to get in or out. 

That tree had been there as far back as I can remember. 

 

This is my brother Jeff on the front porch of his house in Georgetown 6 days ago.  This property is now flooded. This is the worst I have seen the water.  I grew up in Georgetown and remember boating out and riding in the back of a covered bean truck ( for lack of a better word ) in place of the school bus.  We use to come out and stay with my Granny Fern some so that we could go to school.  There were times when we just stayed behind the water and played.  There was a draw across the field behind our house that when the back water filled it up we would go swimming.  I wouldn't let my children swim in that water but we didn't seem to think anything about it then.  When we went out in the boat, we would boat up to the place where our vehicle was parked, get in and drive to town. We we came back we would trade the car for the boat again and boat up to the back yard and walk in to the house.  This was common to me and I never thought much about it as a child.  Now as an adult I don't know how my parents tolerated it .  The worry!!

While the family was here we spent a little time at the lake house. 

So glad that they were able to visit. Hope they had a great time.  Love you guys !

And the work continues.....

Not to long ago I shared a few pictures of a project that Kenny and I are working on.  The work continues.....Although the plumbing worked , it had some issues that would soon cause a problem so we went on and hired a plumber to come in and resolve the issue. 

There is still plenty to do but we may take a break from it for the summer and get back to work  when it's cold again. 

You can tell in this picture that the place is getting some green added to the scenery.  Still a very pretty view.

Kort and Sawyer love each other so much !



A couple of weeks ago the kids and grand kids came to visit us for Kenny's birthday.  Some of us thought there would be a little fishing going on but there was more boat repair than anything else. The temperature was perfect and we spent a lot of time outside.  Kort's parents brought his new ride and they all had a blast taking turns driving.

I done the grilling and Ticia made the desert.  Kenny got some superman underwear ( still in the bag and in the closet)  LOL !   More birthdays yet to come this year so plenty more fun to be had.



Happy Birthday to Kenny !

Today is my husbands birthday.  Happy Birthday to you Kenny !  Kenny and I went to high school together but we were in two totally different worlds at the time.  He was a Searcy guy and I was just some girl from Georgetown, a hick is what a think they called me....lol !  We have an anniversary coming up soon so I will spare you the details of how we met until June ( if I don't forget ) . Mine and Kenny's birthday's are two weeks apart.  We had to start with the year we were born to figure out how old we were this year.  That must mean we are getting old and forgetful.  Kenny is 11 months and two weeks older than I am.  So for 2 weeks out of the year we are the same age ( technically ).  This is a picture of Kenny with our two youngest grandchildren.  They are two years old now.  I don't have a lot of pictures of Kenny because he doesn't like to have his picture made so I had to use one with the kiddos in it.   Hope that everyone is doing well!  Thanks for reading my blog. Home Away from Home

I have a new project going that I am pretty excited about.  My husband and I purchased a small place on Greers Ferry Lake.  We have been looking off and on for about two years.  We both had kind of given up on finding something in our price range.  A family member who lives around the lake called me and said that one of his neighbors was selling.  We checked it out and found it to be a perfect fit for our family.  It is a three bedroom two bath.  We are currently replacing the carpet with laminate flooring.  I am going to put in a few pictures now but will put more later when I can do some before and after shots.  Have a great weekend !

Birthday Party's are fun !

February was the first birthday party of the 2011 year.  Ellie turned 5. Her parents chose to have her party at a gym with the large blow up toys.  Everyone had a big time including some of the parents !

March has had a lot of excitement for us too. 









Sawyer and Kort turned 2.  They are cousins and are less than 24 hours apart in age.  Their parents chose to have a pony ride party.  So

much fun !!!!
